Roles
- Admin — can manage everything: users, settings, servers, containers, images, networks, volumes, Compose files, deployments, databases and Kubernetes.
- Viewer — can see inventories, status, metrics and logs. Viewers cannot create, change, delete, start or stop anything, open terminals, reveal database passwords or read volume files. Environment variable values are hidden from them.
Manage users
Administrators open Users to Add user with an email, a password of at least 8 characters and a role. New users are Viewers by default. Use Make admin, Make viewer, Reset password or Delete user on each account; role changes take effect immediately. Anyone can change their own password from the account menu.
Using the app without signing in
When the control plane runs on your own computer, the app signs you in as an administrator automatically, like Docker Desktop. That automatic session can manage every connected server, so it is only granted to the app on the same computer — never to other machines, other websites, or requests through a proxy or tunnel.
When the control plane is on a network address rather than your own computer, signing in is always required.
