Welcome to PS-pocketEdge

What PS-pocketEdge does, how its pieces fit together, and where to start.

PS-pocketEdge lets you manage Docker and Podman containers on all of your machines from one desktop app. You can start and stop containers, read their logs, open a terminal inside them, deploy multi-container apps from Compose files or Git, run databases from a curated marketplace, and work with Kubernetes clusters — without switching between terminals and servers.

How it fits together

PS-pocketEdge has three parts. The setup installer for your computer puts all three in place for you.

  • Desktop app — the window you work in. It shows your servers, containers, deployments and databases, plus a resource bar along the bottom.
  • Control plane — the background service the app talks to. It keeps your settings, users, deployment history and encrypted credentials in a PostgreSQL database.
  • Agent — a small service on each machine you manage. It connects out to the control plane and runs the Docker or Podman commands on that machine. Machines with an agent are called servers.
Agents always connect out to the control plane. Docker and Podman never need to be exposed on the network for PS-pocketEdge to manage them.

What you can do

  • See every container across every server in one list, with live CPU, memory, network and disk usage.
  • Follow logs, search them, combine logs from related containers, and open a terminal in a container or on the server itself.
  • Get alerts when a container runs hot or its usage departs from its normal pattern.
  • Deploy Compose apps with pre-deployment checks, rolling updates, automatic rollback, approvals and maintenance windows.
  • Build and deploy straight from a Git repository, and redeploy automatically on every push.
  • Run PostgreSQL and other databases with generated credentials, scheduled backups and one-click restores.
  • Connect Kubernetes clusters, deploy workloads and Helm charts, and run AI models with Ollama.
