Portal Designer

A drag-and-drop editor for what employees see on their self-service portal home page.

Portal Designer is a visual, drag-and-drop way to customize the self-service portal's dashboard and navigation, with a live preview showing your changes before you save them.

Arranging the dashboard

Drag to reorder the portal's dashboard widgets (an active-outage banner, a greeting, profile completeness, a "new request" call-to-action, and recent requests), and toggle any of them off entirely with the visibility icon. Two widgets have their own small settings — the call-to-action's button label and link, and how many recent requests to show.

Arranging navigation

The portal's nav links (Home, Knowledge Base, My Tickets, Service Catalog, My Requests, Access Requests, Submit Request, Status) can be reordered, renamed, given a different icon, or hidden the same way.

Saving your changes

Click Save Layout once you're happy with the preview, or Reset to Default to discard your customizations and start over.

Example

A company wants Service Catalog to be the first thing employees see, ahead of submitting an open-ended request, since most of what people need is already a defined catalog item. An admin drags Service Catalog to the top of the nav order in Portal Designer, checks the live preview, and saves — every employee's portal reflects the new order immediately.
